The Hair Straightening Pill?

A Pill To Straighten Your Hair

By Janice McAlister - The Hair GROW Guru - www.Grandmasecretsonline.com

Don't throw out your blow dryers & flat irons, and don't cancel your salon visit for your Relaxer, or Japanese Hair Straightening Technique, just yet. But according to a group of Australian Scientist , these items and techniques may become a thing of the past, in the very near future.  The Hair care giant Lo'Real is currently working with these findings to develop a pill which will "switch off", your curly hair gene and replace it with a straight hair gene, and vice versa.

I know, I know, it sounds like pure science fiction,  but apparently it is true.  One thing that keeps coming to my mind is,  what will happen to the $60 Billion hair care industry?  An industry which has dangled a bunch of unfilled promises to us for the last 50 years or so; yet has consistently seen escalating profits in all areas, simply because in the name of "beauty",  we continue to clamour to them,  with outstretched hands, filled with cash.  Forever looking  for the next "Great Haircare Hope".

My next thought is , will it work?  What will be the potential sides affects of a gene altering pill? Are the affects temporary or permanent? How much will this pill cost? These are all important questions, which I will personally need answered, before I even THINK about it.  How about you?  Would you take this pill?

Ann, the pill has not been produced yet. It's still in the development stage. It will likely be expensive, as is Rogaine.

I want to be on the human trials. How can I find out?
What department at Loreal is responsible: research? Would like
to know more.

Angela,
If you would like to be in the human trials and testing, your best bet would be to contact L'oreal directly at their website.

Angelab,
The likely cause of the hold up is that clinical trials in humans have not begun. Once these are under way, hopefully we will see the results of the trials and if approved by the FDA, the pill will become available. I am watching this story develop. I'll surely keep you posted on anything new.

I contacted the Lead Scientist from Queensland Medical research Institute and his comment was "It's a long way off".

Thanks for the update. But seiously, what is the hold up? I saw an
article online that there was a Goodmorning America Show featuring
this breakthrough; but they said that Loreal had already created this
'pill'. What's the scoop on that? Thanks.....

I want more information on this pill. I want it and need it. I have struggled with curly, unruly and frizzy hair for all of my life. The pain and suffering I have had dealing with my hair is beyond belief. If a pill can really get rid of this mess on my head - bring it on!
